Don’t be Scared. I Know How you Can Convert From Any Movie Format

There are often occasions when people around the world rent DVDs from a online or local store and then if they happens to like the movie, would either go for a DVD purchase or many of them would use a ripping or conversion software to convert the DVD into another supported format like for example a VCD format. Once the Video has been converted successfully, it can then be burned using different burning software on to a CD-ROM or 3 or 4 such movies can still be clubbed together into a 4 in 1 DVD.

WinMPG Video Convert is a good utility which can used for such a conversion and burning experience, as the software basically converts almost all commonly supported formats existing today!

With the range of video formats existing like AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, VCD, DVD, SVCD, DivX, WMV, RMVB, 3GP, SWF, QuickTime etc., a user can pick and choose the kind of output format desired for the video storage.

The WinMPG Video Convert is very easy to install and takes almost 1 minute to get the application configured on your personal computer. Once the software has been installed it can be opened from a desktop application icon or from program menu options. Once the program is opened the user will be stunned with its application interface which unlike many others in the market has a very small and stylish appearance.

For those who are familiar with Windows Media player skins would find an absolutely similar experience with the difference in menu option only. Since there are only few conversion option available on the main application interface like All to VCD, All to DVD, All to MPG1, All to MPG2, All to AVI, All to RmvB etc., if the user desires to pick an option not available in the list, he/she can choose to select it from a drop down list button (with down arrow icon). You will find many more conversion option in the menu along with a capture option which allows the user to take snaps. Pick up the input file and the output file; now move along the picture until you reach the frame which you would like to capture. Move the mouse over to the Capture button and click once. Your picture is ready with fabulous quality.

Let’s see how the conversion process takes place. Pick up the desired conversion option which would take you to another application interface where you will be required to select the input file which can be in any format existing today. Now select the output location on your computer and that’s all. You don’t have to mention the output file as it would be named automatically depending upon the format.

For example you have clicked on the option ‘ALL to DVD’, the next screen will be a preview window and a conversion input/output file details with an ‘Advance’ option which will let you know the duration it would take to finish the conversation. Also, there is an ‘Information’ icon which will display the files format details.

In our case, when the user clicks on the ‘Convert’ button he/she will be prompted to select the DVD Setting like the ‘Format setting’ to either PAL or NTSC and ‘Video Size’ etc. Preview is an option a user can choose to check on the conversion progress. Overall, it’s a very nice piece of software which can be used effectively for video conversion and taking Snapshots.

How can I change a Movie I made in Windows Movie Maker to play in Quicktime, etc.?

I just finished creating a video in Windows Movie Maker, and it only allows me to play the file on that program, I wish to play it on Quicktime, or Windows Media Player. How can I do that? I know there are trials and programs, I do not wish to pay anything, and I tried a trial to a movie converter and it didn’t work, and since it is only a trial (if it were to work) I would only get about 5 seconds of my movie. Please help! Thank You!

Why is Quicktime on my pc? I don’t want it on my pc…?

I didn’t specifically install Quicktime. Now I see “Configure Quicktime Codecs” on my start menu (Windows Vista) I don’t want Quicktime because I have other software that plays all of my media files. I don’t want Quicktime interfering with anything. It’s not listed anywhere under Control Panel Programs and Features. How do I get rid of it?

If you have Quicktime it will be in Programs.

It may be that you only have some codecs to convert Quicktime files for other players.

You can delete the item from your Start Menu if you want. Just right click on it for options.

Bluray freezes on Sony Vaio – laptop or software problem

am a using Blu-ray DVDs on my new Sony vaio Laptop. The description of my laptop are :
Model: Sony VAIO VGN-AR630e
Blu-ray player: Intervideo WinDVD BD for VAIO
Actually I am using new VAIO, everything installed including operating system windows vista. When play the blu ray disk on WinDVD. The laptop hangs and freezes. Is this issue with my laptop or any software? Please recognize. Thanks in advance.

If you use the laptop to watch region “B” Blu-ray movies. You can purchase software from SlySoft.com. When the software runs, it eliminates the region code and all that annoying copy protection. If it so, a red window come up prompt you to go to Cyberlink for an update. After that, the movie would play, but you had no surround sound in my home theatre. For this reason, you can practice the old Media Smart software and run SlySoft. Through this technique you have no more red window and the surround sound in theatre through HDMI pass through should works properly. All the best.

You need to understand that you are also playing mkv files on your PC which resources that obviously you have installed codecs and Haali Media Splitter/Matroska splitter, etc. If this is so then you would have to un-install haali/matroska splitter (only) as it clashes with WinDVD plus Bluray edition to playback blu-ray DVDs. or use PowerDVD 8 ultra edition to playback blu-ray disks. Use this and reply.

You need to rip your blu ray disc , So you should Download Avgo Media Recorder. You just Close all media players, including PowerDVD, WinDVD and Windows Media player. Launch Avgo Media Recorder. Then Run PowerDVD, and play your Blu-ray movies. After that you need to select the output format from ‘Profile’. You can choose the common video/audio format like AVI, VOB, WMV, MP4, DVD, FLV. If you would like to rip Blu-ray disc to portable multimedia players like iPod, PSP, Zune or iPhone, just select the device. The free Blu-ray ripper will make videos playable on your portable device for you. All the best.

I have one solution for you, it also happened with my 9700T. I took a Q-Tip and cleaned the blu-ray lens. That’s all nothing enchanted and just rubbed over it a few times, and voila, the blu-ray was being read and worked again. I can appealing much guarantee, that’s the problem not disc encryption or anything senseless like that. The lens perhaps became some dust and needs cleaning. Remember DVDs use additional laser. Check and reply.

You need to use DVD Blu ray burner that can convert and burn almost all the video formats to Blu-ray disc, like AVI, WMV, MKV, MPEG, MP4, MOV, H.264/AVC, M2TS, FLV, etc to Blu-ray Disc of 25GB or 50 GB capacity with amazingly clear picture and rich surround sound. Moreover, Blu-ray creator can help you fit the videos as you wish; plug-in player allows users to preview the input video freely. All the best.

Blu-ray discs like the perfect watch another problem is that you display a Blue relevant disc format on the market are mainly two kinds of 25G and 50G (BD25, BD50) and 1080p picture quality is generally a small number of 1080I (distinguish between progressive scan and interlaced scan). Only 24-inch and above TV or monitor to the perfect support for 1920 * 1080 (high definition) resolution. If your 22-inch display can play 1080P video only with Play 720P (general format for the D9 DVD) video not very different. Check and reply.

Windows DEP preventing me from playing AVI files on my External HDD?

I can’t seem to play any videos on my external HDD. I have updated codecs and versions for DivX and Windows Media Player. I run a Dell e1705 with XP sp3. Clicking on an avi file on my external HDD freezes the computer and a pop-up screen saying windows DEP has closed the program and DrWatson, too. I’m trying to fix it, looking at everything online, but I haven’t found a solution. Help is greaaaatly appreciated.
i’ve ran many virus scans (AVG, symantec, etc.) on my computer and hdd and i have found no viruses. it doesn’t look like there’s a virus on there.

Maybe you have a bad codec somewhere? Have you tried downloading ACEMCP603PRO? Google that and try that. You can also try the K-Lite Codec pack.

Also try to see if you have a PicVideo codec installed that might be causing the crash. Go into the device manager, multimedia, video codecs, and see if the PICVideo codec is there. Go into it’s properties, advanced and then disabled it via the checkbox.

What about turning off or removing the AVI entry under Windows DEP?
1. Click Start
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select System
4. Click the Advanced tab
5. In the Performance region select Settings
6. Click the Data Execute tab in the dialog box that opens
7. Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select
8. Click Add.
9. The open dialog box will open. Browse and select your application.
10. Click Open
11. Click Apply
12. Click Ok
13. Reboot

Media Players Mac

Media Players Mac

The Emergence of Portable Media Players – iPod

iPod is a brand of portable media players that is designed and marketed by Apple and was launched on October 23, 2001. Since October 2004, iPod sales have dominated the market for digital music players in the United States.

Devices in the iPod range are primarily digital music players, designed around a central click wheel although the iPod shuffle has buttons only.

The full-sized model stores media on an internal hard drive, while the smaller iPod nano and iPod shuffle use flash memory. Like many digital audio players, iPods can also serve as external data storage devices.

In addition to playing music, iPods with display screens can display calendars, contact information, and text files, and play a limited range of video games. Models introduced in 2004 include the ability to display photos and the fifth-generation iPod, introduced in 2005, can additionally play video files. In January 2007, Apple announced the iPhone, combining the features of a video-capable iPod with integrated mobile phone and mobile internet capabilities.

Apples iTunes software is used for transferring music (as well as photos, videos, games, contacts and calendars, for models that support those features). As a free jukebox application, iTunes stores a comprehensive library of music on the users computer and can play, burn, and rip music from a CD. It can also sync photos and videos.

History and Design:

The iPod came from Apple digital hub strategy, as the company began creating software for the growing market of digital devices being purchased by consumers. While digital cameras, camcorders and organizers had well-established mainstream markets, the company found digital music players lacking in user interface design and decided to develop its own.

The name was proposed by Vinnie Chieco, a freelance copywriter, who (with others) was called by Apple to figure out how to introduce the new player to the public. As soon as Chieco saw a prototype for the player he thought of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey and the phrase: “Open the pod bay door, Hal!”, which refers to the white EVA Pods of the Discovery One spaceship. At that time “iPod” was a name that Apple registered for Internet kiosks, but never put to use.

Apple hardware engineering chief Jon Rubinstein assembled a team of engineers to design it, including Tony Fadell, Stan Ng and Jonathan Ive. Additionally, Sparkfactor Design has designed some of the iPod hardware from 2002-2004. They developed the product in less than a year and it was unveiled on October 23, 2001. CEO Steve Jobs announced it as a Mac-compatible product with a 5 GB hard drive that put “1000 songs in your pocket.”

Uncharacteristically, Apple did not develop the iPods software entirely in-house. Instead, Apple began with PortalPlayer reference platform which was based on 2 ARM cores. The platform used rudimentary software running on a commercial microkernel embedded operating system. PortalPlayer had previously been working on an IBM-branded MP3 player with Bluetooth headphones. Apple contracted another company, Pixo, to help design and implement the user interface, under the direct supervision of Steve Jobs.

Once established, Apple continued to refine the software look and feel. Starting with the iPod mini, the Chicago font (once used on early Macintosh computers) was replaced with Espy Sans, which was originally used in eWorld and Copland. Later iPods switched fonts again to Podium Sans, a font similar to Apple corporate font Myriad. The iPods with color displays then adopted some Mac OS X themes like Aqua progress bars, as well as brushed metal in the lock interface.

User interface:

Apple focused its development on the iPod’s unique user interface and its ease of use, rather than on technical capability. The iPod is currently the world’s best-selling range of digital audio players and its worldwide mainstream adoption makes it one of the most popular consumer brands. Some of Apple’s design choices and proprietary actions have, however, led to criticism and legal battles.

The iPods with color displays use high quality anti-aliased graphics and text, with sliding animations. These iPods have five buttons and the newer generations have the buttons integrated into the click wheel an innovation which gives an uncluttered, minimalistic interface.

The buttons are:

Menu to traverse backwards through the menus, and toggle the backlight on older iPods when held
Center to select a menu item
Play / Pause which doubles as an off switch when held
Fast Forward (When held)/ Skip Forward
Fast Reverse (When held)/ Skip Backwards

The operations such as scrolling through menu items and controlling the volume are performed by using the click wheel in a rotational manner. These iPods also have a Hold switch at the top, which prevents accidental button presses.

Newer iPods automatically pause playback when the headphones are unplugged from the headphone jack, but playback does not resume when the headphones are re-inserted.

However, in newer iPods (excluding iPod shuffles), when the headphones are re-inserted into the headphone jack when the iPod is asleep, the iPod will automatically wake up to the last screen viewed before going to sleep. An iPod that has crashed or frozen can be reset by switching ‘Hold’ on then off, then holding Menu and Center (Menu and Play on the 3G iPod) for 6 seconds.

The iPod shuffle does not use a click wheel and instead has five buttons positioned differently to the larger models. It has a Play / Pause button in the center, surrounded by four buttons: Volume Up / Down and Skip Forward / Backwards. This button arrangement is shared by the Apple Remote (which ships with all Apple computers with Front Row and the Universal Dock).

Live Video Streaming Server Software

Live Video Streaming Server Software

Streaming videos normally work involving two files. These files include the actual video file that is stored on the web server and the launcher file that has data regarding the address of the server and other information necessary to stream the video file.

Streamed video is delivered to a client (user’s computer) upon request. The video is downloaded in data packets that the media/video player recognizes, which allows the player to show the video even when the video file is not completely downloaded. These data packets are stored in a buffer from which the video player reads data and converts and displays it in video format. If the Internet connection and bandwidth is fast enough to transfer all data from the server to the client’s buffer, video playback will go smoothly. Otherwise, if the buffer is not fully utilized and does not hold enough data, video playback will be choppy. Data making up streaming videos that have been converted and shown are not stored in the client computer’s cache. This makes it impossible for users to save the video files for viewing at a later time.

There are programs on the Internet and on the market that allow users to capture or record streaming video while it is playing and save it to a file. Each program does this through different methods. There are capture programs that ask the user to select the region on the monitor of the screen that he or she would like to capture and save. There are also programs that allow the user to define which video players are used for streaming videos; this enables the capture program to save the video being played by those players. Other capture programs works like VCRs and allow users to time recordings and set the time for when to start and stop recording streaming videos.

Video capture programs also allow users to select the video format to which they want to save the video file. Like other software, video capture programs on the market may be free or bought from developers. There are many trial versions of these programs on the Internet that let users record and save streaming video but only to a limited extent.

Is there a Media Player that plays DivX and Xvid WHILE DOWNLOADING from Internet Explorer?

I’m looking for a media player that will play divx/xvid/most other video formats WHILE DOWNLOADING… i.e. when i click the .avi link in Internet Explorer, the player launches automatically and starts playing the file while downloading it. Currently what i do is use Wellget to download the file in successive chunks of 300kb each… and launch VLC player to play the file generated by wellget while downloading… it only takes an extra minute, but if there is a media player that will do it then that’d be better.

Thanks.

You dont need a special media player to play Divx or other formats. You just need codecs for the format. You can play the media with any player like Windows Media Player or Real Player.
